TED TALKS ENGLISH
ENGLISH THROUGH SITCOMS
This class allows students to focus on both listening and speaking skills while enhancing their public speaking strategies. With carefully selected videos, teachers engage students in new, relevant vocabulary, who then put it to use with speeches and presentations of their own.
Speaking in a business meeting or at university are very different than having a conversation in a cafe, a park, or a bar- learn how to keep up on street English with this elective which gives students valuable insights on when certain expressions are useful or when they might sound inappropriate or rude.
Students chose from three of our 15 alternating afternoon classes, some of which are listed here. Please inquire if you wish to know which are being offered at the moment.
Our electives give students the opportunity to focus on whichever skill they consider the most important as they prepare to reach their English goals- whether they be for school, work, or social life.
02 / ELECTIVES
Our courses follow the international standard levels established by the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) and the European Council. The Common European Framework (CEF) is the document used to describe the performance of learners of foreign languages in Europe. Thus, their six reference levels have become widely accepted as a way of benchmarking language ability all over the world. Oure General ESL classes:
-Provide Six levels of General ESL, from Starter to Advanced.
-Cover the 4 basic skills (Speaking, Listening, Writing, Reading), while maintaining a high degree of communicative and task-based learning.
-Highly qualified and experienced teachers ensure that classes are informative, educational, and interesting.
-Carefully chosen textbooks provide strong foundation for teachers and students, with teachers supplementing with extra material.
Our students undergo weekly assessments along with monthly tests and progress reports, ensuring that their progress is closely monitored and any holes in their learning are addressed. In addition, CLC's unique Individual Learning Plan guarantees that every student's educational priorities are met.
03 / SPECIALIZED ENGLISH
Prepare yourself tor the international world of accounting and finance with this specialized program. With plenty of important vocabulary and role-play scenarios, this program will propel you into the international world of accounting, bookkeeping and finance. CLC has instructed hundreds of accountants and have consistently demonstrated demonstrable results.
ENGLISH FOR ACCOUNTING
ENGLISH FOR ENGINEERS
Our English for Engineering program develops communication skills and English language knowledge needed to communicate more confidently and effectively with colleagues and customers. We cover topics common to all kinds of engineering; procedures and precautions; monitoring and control; and engineering design. Authentic activities make the course relevant and motivating.
This course will provide an opportunity for participants to develop or strengthen their understanding of medical terminology as it is used in English health care contexts. Language development will be facilitated through the use of case scenarios, dialogues and discussions related to body systems, medications, medication administration as well health care contexts.

The Teacher Training Program at CLC offers students both instruction and practice. You will learn to effectively teach English at any level by using a teaching approach that focuses on learning theories, practice skills and systems of English. You will gain practical skills from expert teachers – learn from the best at CLC!
Our Teach Abroad Program (TAP) is perfect for teachers and aspiring teachers who don't have long periods of time to study- for just 2 weeks teachers come to our school in Toronto and both study, observe, and teach.
